Dr. Navin Ramachandran is a practising radiology consultant at University College London Hospital, an honorary senior lecturer / healthcare data researcher at University College London Centre for Health Informatics & Multiprofessional Education and a co-founder of OpenCancer and the Platform for Enhanced Analytics and Computational Healthcare (PEACH). His main interests are in digital design, data modelling, interoperability, analytics, identity and consent management and he is also looking into the use of traditional blockchain in healthcare.

Dr. Lungren is the Associate Director of the Stanford Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and Imaging and an Assistant Professor Clinician Scientist at Stanford University Medical Center. His leading research interest is in the field of machine learning and deep learning in medical imaging and clinical informatics. He holds an MPH which focuses on his primary interest in biostatistical modeling in epidemiology and health policy in the national healthcare landscape and has extensive applied experience in both statistical as well as machine learning applications for solving important medical imaging challenges.

Ramesh Raskar is an Associate Professor at MIT Media Lab and directs the Camera Culture research group. His focus is on AI and Imaging for health and sustainability. They span research in physical (e.g., sensors, health-tech), digital (e.g., automated and privacy-aware machine learning) and global (e.g., geomaps, autonomous mobility) domains. He received the Lemelson Award (2016), ACM SIGGRAPH Achievement Award (2017), DARPA Young Faculty Award (2009), Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship (2009), TR100 Award from MIT Technology Review (2004) and Global Indus Technovator Award (2003). He has worked on special research projects at Google [X] and Facebook and co-founded/advised several companies.

SkinVision has developed a technology that enables individuals to self check for signs of skin cancer using their smartphone only. In her role as Business Development Director Loes van Egmond is responsible for designing and implementing population health management programs with health insurers globally. Today, SkinVision has partnerships with multiple partners across UK, DE, NL and ANZ who cover over 11 million lives in total.

Betty is an accomplished software developer with over 14 years of experience developing technology solutions to solve real-world problems. In addition, she holds a degree in Orthomolecular Medicine and Nutrition, and is currently completing her Masters in Human Language Technology – where she is focusing on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques. The passion for IT and a healthy lifestyle comes together in new IT solutions for the health sector.

With an academic background in both Cognitive Neuroscience and Computer Science, I am intrigued by the similarities and differences between the human brain and the ‘computer brain’. How do we perceive the world around us? How do we see what is present in an image or a video? And how can we make a computer understand what is present in an image or a video?

These are some of the questions which I try to answer on a daily basis by developing algorithms that can automatically analyze surgical images and videos with the use of Artificial Intelligence. This work is an important part of Incision’s mission to realize the potential of standardized analysis and feedback generation in the field of surgical training.

Before joining Chronolife, Laurent set up and grew Qualcomm Life in Europe between 2012 and 2018, Qualcomm Life being an enabler and connectivity provider for connected and Digital Health services globally.

Prior to Qualcomm Life, Laurent developed, launched and managed different new businesses and P&L for the enterprise market in B2B mode for leading satellite operators such as Eutelsat and for leading wireless communication technology providers such as Qualcomm.

His expertise is therefore focused on the development and operation of end-to-end services leveraging innovative satellite, cellular, IoT and Cloud based technologies applied to the enterprise market in general and to Digital Health in particular.

Clarisa Sánchez is the full professor of AI and Health at the Informatics Institute, University of Amsterdam. Her main focus is on the development and clinical implementation of socially responsible AI innovations in healthcare for 1) the automated screening and early detection of diseases, 2) the implementation of personalized treatment protocols, and 3) the computerized prediction of disease progression. She is Scientific Director of two Innovation Centers for AI (ICAI): Thira Lab and NKI-UVA Lab.  She worked as associate professor in the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at Radboud University Medical Center (RadboudUMC in Nijmegen). She studied and received her doctoral degree (with honors) in telecommunications engineering at the University of Valladolid (Spain), with a work on automatic analysis of fundus images for cost-efficient diabetic retinopathy screening.

Jan-Jakob Sonke received his MSc and PhD degree in the field of room acoustics from the Delft University of Technology. He started his career in the field of radiation oncology at the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) as a post doc on image guided radiotherapy. Currently he is a professor by special appointment at the University of Amsterdam and leads a research group at the Netherlands Cancer Institute focusing on adaptive radiotherapy. He currently serves as theme leader image guided therapy at the Netherlands cancer institutes and coordinates artificial intelligence for oncology research and applications

At the Amsterdam Economic Board, Jeroen Maas has a strategic role in driving innovation and business development in the health sector, with a focus on the use of (data)technology and artificial intelligence in supporting health. Fascinated by the complexities of this challenge, Jeroen works with the Amsterdam Economic Boards’ leading CEOs, scientists and policymakers to promote innovation with the ultimate aim to gain healthy years.

Stephanie is a health technology advisor in digital health and artificial intelligence. She has over 15 years clinical and research experience and trained and worked in the NHS as a surgical oncologist specialising in women’s cancers.

Stephanie is an advisor and consultant in Clinical AI at the World Health Organisation’s Department of Digital Health & Innovation. She is the Healthcare Lead for Women in AI (WAI), an NHS England Clinical Entrepreneur and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at UCL where she was awarded a Doctorate in Clinical Research.

During her clinical career she sat on council of a national cancer society (BGCS) and was awarded numerous International travelling fellowships to; Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center in New York, Cancer Hospital Pernambuco in Brazil, and Centre du Cancer Oscar Lambret in France.

Stephanie is a regular speaker on validation of health technology and has hosted a US podcast (HLTH) on themes around technology and the future of health.

Sarah Porter has launched 21 b2b and b2c technology products in 11 countries since 1996 and has a renowned reputation for taking ideas from concept to market with subsequent significant growth globally.

Emerging tech / AI / Medtech / Singularity / Existentialism is where her core experience lies and she has over 20 years of commercial experience.

As a board executive for i2i Events Group (parent company The Guardian Media Group / Apax – Ascential – previously Top Right Group) with the specific remit to rapidly grow the business whilst leveraging operational costs and prepare pre IPO. She sat on the i2i mergers and acquisitions committee identifying, analysing and approaching target businesses and accelerated growth by 22% within 12 months.

Achievements include the launch and acquisition of Money2020 – a leading fintech product. This included negotiation, 3 stage due diligence, its subsequent integration, and the long term geo-adaption into a global portfolio worth over $40m. The launch of World Retail Congress in 10 countries, the re-launch of the Cannes Lions festival.

Sarah is a regular keynote speaker on start-ups, business and women/equality related issues and is an ambassador for the Royal Marsden where she champions the use of AI tech in oncology advances.

Ian is a Specialist Emergency Physician with post graduate qualifications in Surgery, International Health and Tropical Medicine. Ian headed the World Health Organization Emergency Medical Team (EMT) Initiative program in HQ Geneva from 2014 until January 2020.

Ian’s work with WHO assisted organizations and member states to build capacity and strengthen health systems by coordinating the deployment of quality assured medical teams in emergencies in over 130 countries across the globe. Ian is the lead author of the current WHO Global Classification and Standards for EMT deployments to disasters.

With WHO Ian deployed for over 5 months to West Africa as part of the Ebola outbreak response in 2014/15 and led the coordination of 58 EMTs in three countries. He also led the coordination of 132 EMTs in Nepal during the earthquakes of April and May 2015. In 2016 he established the EMT trauma pathway as part of the Mosul response in Northern Iraq.

Previously, Ian led the creation of disaster response teams in Australia and became the Director of Disaster Preparedness and Response at the National Critical Care & Trauma Response Centre (NCCTRC), located in Darwin. Ian was instrumental in creating the Australian Governments disaster response cache and the training of 700 volunteers who now make up the Australian Government Emergency Medical Team (AusMAT). Ian led AusMAT on several international deployments, including the Pakistan floods, Solomon Island dengue support and Typhoon Haiyan, Philippines in Tacloban. He also led the mass casualty burns response to a refugee boat explosion off Ashmore Reef in 2009.

During this period, Ian also conducted training in disaster management in over 60 countries across Africa, Europe, Middle-East, North America, South-east Asia, South America and the Pacific Island Countries and territories.

Ian began his career in medicine working in Ireland and Australia, and after specializing in emergency medicine chose to work in Darwin, Northern Territory, in order to concentrate on care of the aboriginal population in remote Northern Australia and particularly to improve their access to trauma and emergency responses. He worked in the national trauma Centre based in Darwin, on outreach programmes to remote indigenous/aboriginal communities, and led a remote area trauma education programme as well as working in the helicopter and aircraft retrieval services.

He was awarded medals and distinctions in clinical research on trauma care, junior doctor teaching and the use of anti-emetics in paediatric patients (with particular application to aboriginal children) and humanitarian medical care. Ian was the recipient of the Australian Humanitarian Medal for his leadership of AusMAT to the Pakistan floods. Ian was also awarded the prestigious World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WADEM) Frederick “Skip” Burkle Award for Global Leadership in Emergency Public Health. Ian was recognized for his role in development of the WHO Emergency Medical Team initiative
